Really scary and really good jumpscares, i had goosebumps every single time that fucking thing showed up.
Also, great atmosphere, it was able to really encapsulate the feeling you get when you're a kid, and after going to the bathroom at night, you turn off the lights and go running to your bed.
2 things that could be better:
1 - If you don't turn off all of the lights, it just gives you a warning to turn them all off. It would be better if it just gave you a game over screen if you didn't turn them all off.
2 - Sometimes when all of the lights are turned off, except for one, and you're already in the bedroom, you can't see anything so you just have to restart the game. Try to make the lightswitches a little bit more apparent.
HM : If you changed the lightbulbs to lamps, it would be 100x scarier. But only a suggestion lol.
Thank you for taking your time to write this, to answer your suggestions, the warning is just so that people don't accidentally just end the night prematurely, but now that I think about it, a screen with "Go to bed?" would have been better. About the lighting, you have a flashlight, I updated the game so that on the first night you get a tool tip telling you "Press "F" for flashlight" since I've seen many people not knowing there was one. The lamp suggestion is interesting, I can see the older looking home with the old orange lights making for a better atmosphere. I appreciate you very much for playing and leaving good creative feedback!
Great game! I'd like to see a little bit more about how the detective case is going! Maybe drop little dialogue about it each day! But I loved how "It" looked and moved about! Totally scary and amazing game!
Haha yeah, I've seen many people struggle with the flashlight so I added a tool tip in the newest version to tell the player he had one, thank you for checking out the game, the video was hilarious!
Let Me Inside is a masterclass in minimalist horror. Despite its small size, it delivers a deeply unsettling experience through PSX-style visuals, eerie sound design, and a suffocating atmosphere.
👋 To the Developer: Hi Barboot Games — I just finished reviewing Let Me Inside and was genuinely impressed by the atmosphere and pacing. You've created something truly haunting.
First horror game that's given me chills, good job! Absolutely loved the vibe/atmosphere of the game, made me feel like I was at my grandmother's house at night when she's asleep. Was not expecting most of the scares, there was no buildup, just random appearances (which is something I love).
Great little game! The atmosphere really got me. A little confusing to have the creature appear inside when the entire premise is to not let it inside, but it did make for some good subtle surprises.
I also love to see other Godot developers putting out good titles.
Thank you for checking out the game! The reasoning for the creature appearing inside is more because it has enough power to materialize in a visible form but can't interact with you on a physical level since it's powers are weak. It is spiritually connected to the home from the outside, the connection points being the entry ways, and if you forget something open it can slowly gain enough strength to appear in it's full form. But I like to leave the logistics and theories up to player interpretation most of the time. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts!
I'm happy you liked the atmosphere! There are actually 2 endings, in your video you happened to miss a vent in the kitchen dinning room, that's how the monster got inside, leading to the detectives death.
